Többletelő Evening – Doctors Supporting the Community

On April 23, the Szent Balázs Foundation organized a new Többletelő evening in Târgu Mureș, welcoming doctors who are dedicated not only to their medical profession but also to civic and community life in Transylvania.

Dr. Melinda Korodi, diabetologist; Dr. Levente Vass, chief urologist and healthcare manager; and Dr. Emmánuel Ladányi, obstetrician-gynecologist, spoke openly about how their experiences in student organizations, volunteer work, and their inner drive to be actively present in the community have shaped their personal and professional paths.

Motivation in Learning – How to Stay Enthusiastic and Persistent?

Learning and perseverance: how to maintain motivation?
On March 26, an inspiring discussion took place at the Jesuit College in Târgu Mureș, where our guests – Dr. Csorvási Szabó-László Zsuzsa, András Csaba SJ, and Szász Tímea-Orsolya – shared their insights on maintaining enthusiasm for learning. The conversation was moderated by Dr. Szabó Mónika, president of the Szent Balázs Foundation.

Our Conference Concluded Successfully

Between February 21–23, 2025, the Cultural Palace hosted the conference MICROBIOME: Coexisting with an Invisible World, where 28 speakers and 537 participants immersed themselves in the exciting and ever-evolving field of microbiome research over three days.

Between Life and Death – The Moral and Medical Dilemmas of Euthanasia

At the first Többletelő evening of the year, we explored a particularly complex and sensitive topic: the moral and medical dilemmas of euthanasia. Our guest speaker, Dr. Judit Kovács, Chief Anesthesiologist and Intensive Care Specialist, provided an in-depth presentation on the true meaning of euthanasia, its historical and legal background, as well as the difficult ethical questions that arise in connection with the topic.

Diseases in the Bible and Today

On December 12, 2024, a special Többletelő evening took place, differing from the usual Wednesday gatherings. The central theme of the event was diseases in the Bible and in modern times, which we explored with the help of our guest speaker, Dr. Melinda Kolcsár, endocrinologist and university professor.

Health Prevention Training

Our foundation has grown with 29 enthusiastic new volunteers after the weekend training! Participants deepened their knowledge in lifestyle, sexual education, drug prevention, and BLS.

Opportunities for Enhancing Patient Cooperation in Chronic Care

We held our successful training on September 6, 2024, which exceeded participants’ expectations. The goal of the program was to help professionals working with chronic patients to enhance patient cooperation.

“Egészsgéforgatag” 2024

The Szent Balázs Foundation also participated in the “Egészségforgatag” 2024 at the invitation of Gedeon Richter Romania. Our aim was to raise awareness about the risks of hypertension and diabetes. During the programme, participants received free blood pressure and blood glucose screenings.

Vibe Festival

“Really medicine? How much is that much?” (Our medicine-taking habits.) visitors to the “Vibekoli” tent were treated to an interesting presentation and discussion. We thank Gedeon Richter and dr. The exciting performance for Zsófia Germán Salló!

Year in Review: Here’s How Our Year Went at the St. Blaise Foundation!

We’ve wrapped up a fulfilling and successful school year at the St. Blaise Foundation! Together with our volunteers, we implemented numerous valuable programs: organized a conference, held preventive sessions in four schools, assisted in a nursing home in Târgu Mureș by helping with caregiving duties and bringing smiles to the residents’ faces. Additionally, through our “More to Tell” evenings, we hosted discussions on various topics.

Bridge Between Generations – Understanding Communication Between Seniors and Youth

In November 2024, a special discussion took place, focusing on communication between seniors and young people. The event, attended by over 50 participants, aimed to explore the challenges and opportunities of intergenerational dialogue.

4th Diabetological Symposium of Transilvania

The 4th Diabetologival Symposium of Transilvania successfully took place from June 7-9, 2024, in Sztána. We had a substantial conference with interesting and much-needed presentations.
