In healing work, physicians participate not only with their strict expertise but with their entire personality. Effective application of their knowledge requires appropriate relational skills because the patient doesn’t just bring their illness to the clinic, but also their biopsychosocial background.
One of the most challenging aspects of caring for chronic patients is establishing adequate compliance and adherence. Research shows that 80-90% of patients do not adhere to physicians’ recommendations regarding lifestyle changes. This leads to motivation loss and dissatisfaction from both physicians and patients.
To address these issues effectively, low-intensity psychological interventions (LIPI) can be applied, which can be easily integrated into everyday medical practice without extensive psychotherapeutic training.
During our training, we will review techniques for building relationships, addressing psychosocial status, enhancing patient cooperation, persuasion, behavior change, and resistance management with practical methods. We will also discuss how to emotionally support our patients quickly and simply, without psychological training.
The training will be conducted in small group format, interactive way, utilizing participants’ experiences and the problematic cases they bring.
