Over the past school year, our Elderly and Patient Care Volunteer Programme continued, with volunteers providing support and companionship to hospital patients and elderly people living in residential care facilities.

A total of 10 volunteers took part in the programme. Our volunteers supported hundreds of hospital patients on the Orthopaedics Department of the Mureș County Emergency Clinical Hospital, while also being there for 63 elderly people living in residential care. Throughout the school year, they dedicated a total of 348 hours to patient care, assistance and providing companionship.

Their work often took the form of simple gestures: helping with everyday tasks, having a conversation, showing a thoughtful gesture, or simply being there for another person.

Once again, our volunteers experienced that helping others does not always require great deeds. Sometimes, the greatest gift is time, attention and simply being present.

We are grateful to our volunteers for dedicating their time and energy to others, and for making the everyday lives of so many patients and elderly people a little easier through their presence.

Giving time. Paying attention. Helping. Being present.
Because care begins with human presence.
