The 6th Transylvanian Diabetes Symposium (MEDiT) took place in Sânvăsii from 19 to 21 June 2026. The three-day scientific event focused on current topics in diabetology and related medical specialties, providing an opportunity for professional knowledge and experience sharing.
The symposium brought together diabetologists, endocrinologists, neurologists, clinical psychologists, dietitians and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of people with diabetes from Romania and Hungary.
The scientific programme was structured around six thematic modules and covered topics such as the neurological and oncological aspects of diabetes, continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), modern diabetes therapies, diabetes distress and endocrine aspects of the disease. The lectures were complemented by interactive sessions and practical workshops focused on knowledge applicable to everyday clinical practice.
Particular attention was given to the use of modern technologies and therapies, as well as psychological support for people living with diabetes. Participants had the opportunity to analyse clinical cases, discuss therapeutic strategies and explore motivational interviewing techniques during the practical workshops.
The 6th edition of MEDiT brought together approximately 50–60 healthcare professionals and was accredited by the Romanian College of Physicians with 10 CME credits.
The event contributed to strengthening professional dialogue, promoting multidisciplinary collaboration and updating knowledge in the field of diabetology.
We would like to thank all lecturers, participants, partners and sponsors for their valuable contribution to the success of this edition!
