We successfully held our training on September 6, 2024, surpassing participants’ expectations. The goal of the program was to help professionals working with chronic patients to enhance patient cooperation. Based on the feedback, we are hopeful that the practical application of what was learned will improve the quality of life for many patients and help doctors become more efficient in their daily practice.

Why is patient cooperation important?
A common issue in the treatment of chronic patients is that 80-90% of them do not follow the lifestyle changes recommended by their doctor. This not only jeopardizes the success of treatments but can also lead to frustration for both doctors and patients. Low Intensity Psychological Interventions (LIPI) offer simple methods that enable doctors to provide emotional support to their patients without requiring psychological training, thereby increasing patient cooperation.

The key focus areas of the training were:

  • Relationship-building techniques
  • Assessing patients’ psychosocial situations
  • Enhancing cooperation through persuasion and behavior change
  • Resistance management
  • Simple ways to provide emotional support

Our Trainers:

  • Dr. György Purebl, Specialist in Psychotherapy
  • Dr. Imola Sándor, Clinical Psychologist

Participant Feedback After the Training:

  • “Today’s session showed how much change awareness and a little attention can bring. I am grateful to have participated.” – Dr. Eszter Frink-Dienes, Psychiatrist
  • “The numerous practical examples will certainly help improve communication with patients.” – Dr. Annamária Nagy-Bodó, Diabetologist
  • “This training filled a gap and I learned great new techniques for better understanding patients.” – Dr. Anna Lorenzovici, General Practitioner

The training was conducted interactively in small groups, where participants could learn techniques for patient communication and behavior change through practical examples. We hope the acquired knowledge will help provide more effective support for patients!
