The fifth edition of the MEDiT Diabetology Conference took place between June 20–22, 2025, in the village of Stana, Sălaj County. Approximately 40 healthcare professionals attended the intensive three-day scientific program. The selection of topics for the scientific sessions was guided by current relevance and an interdisciplinary approach.
Topics covered included the relationship between obesity and diabetes in patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, technological innovations in insulin delivery and continuous glucose monitoring, the latest lipid-lowering medications, the role of SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP-1 receptor agonists in diabetes treatment, spontaneous and age-related hypoglycemia, neuroendocrine tumors, lipodystrophies, and many others.
We placed a strong emphasis on practical applicability, which led to both organized and spontaneous discussions on topics such as the side effects of SGLT2 inhibitors, managing diabetes-related distress, and the role of the diabetologist as an entrepreneur in private medical practice.
In addition to the professional program, participants had the opportunity to socialize, get to know each other, and explore the local area. Friday evening concluded with a relaxing wine tasting and dinner, generously offered by Honorary Consul Péter Tamás. On Saturday afternoon, we visited the Kalotaszeg region, stopping in Huedin and Sâncraiu to discover the area’s cultural heritage.
We would like to thank our colleagues from Romania and Hungary for their insightful presentations and for contributing to the creation of a high-quality scientific program. We also thank all participants for their active and open presence.
We are grateful to our partners and sponsors, without whom this event would not have been possible!
MEDiT 2025 – Day 1
The MEDiT Diabetology Conference has now reached its fifth edition. On the first day, we covered several interdisciplinary topics: neuroendocrine tumors, lipodystrophies, and metabolic coma. We also heard an inspiring presentation on diabetes-related distress, whose conclusions can be applied in daily clinical practice.
The evening concluded with a festive dinner and wine tasting, offered by Honorary Consul Péter Tamás.
It was a pleasure to reconnect with colleagues from both Romania and Hungary!
MEDiT 2025 – Day 2
The second day of the conference was dedicated in the morning to scientific presentations covering a wide range of subjects: obesity, technological innovations, spontaneous hypoglycemia, and the current role of lipid-lowering agents and oral antidiabetic drugs in diabetes therapy.
In the afternoon, we visited the Kalotaszeg (Țara Călatei) region, stopping in Huedin and Sâncraiu to explore the region’s cultural treasures.
MEDiT 2025 – Day 3
On the final day of the conference, we continued with a variety of topics. A clinical case involving a neuroendocrine tumor was presented, followed by discussions on the importance of sleep in type 1 diabetes and hypoglycemia in the elderly. The professional program concluded with a conversation on the challenges of private and entrepreneurial medical practice.
We sincerely thank all colleagues from Romania and Hungary for their valuable presentations and all participants for their motivated and open presence. Special thanks go to Enikő Ambrus for providing an excellent venue and warm hospitality.
We are deeply grateful to our partners and sponsors, without whom this event would not have been possible.
We look forward to seeing you again next year!
