{"id":3346,"date":"2026-08-25T14:08:56","date_gmt":"2026-08-25T12:08:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/szentbalazs.ro\/?p=3346"},"modified":"2026-08-25T14:08:57","modified_gmt":"2026-08-25T12:08:57","slug":"a-year-with-our-elderly-and-patient-care-volunteers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/szentbalazs.ro\/en\/news\/a-year-with-our-elderly-and-patient-care-volunteers\/","title":{"rendered":"A Year with Our Elderly and Patient Care Volunteers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over the past school year, our <strong>Elderly and Patient Care Volunteer Programme<\/strong> continued, with volunteers providing support and companionship to hospital patients and elderly people living in residential care facilities.<\/p><p>A total of <strong>10 volunteers<\/strong> took part in the programme. Our volunteers supported hundreds of hospital patients on the <strong>Orthopaedics Department of the Mure\u0219 County Emergency Clinical Hospital<\/strong>, while also being there for <strong>63 elderly people living in residential care<\/strong>. Throughout the school year, they dedicated a total of <strong>348 hours<\/strong> to patient care, assistance and providing companionship.<\/p><p>Their work often took the form of simple gestures: helping with everyday tasks, having a conversation, showing a thoughtful gesture, or simply being there for another person.<\/p><p>Once again, our volunteers experienced that helping others does not always require great deeds. <strong>Sometimes, the greatest gift is time, attention and simply being present.<\/strong><\/p><p>We are grateful to our volunteers for dedicating their time and energy to others, and for making the everyday lives of so many patients and elderly people a little easier through their presence.<\/p><p><strong>Giving time. Paying attention. Helping.
