Between February 17\u201319, 2023, the Palace of Culture hosted the conference titled “Primum Nil Nocere \u2013 Medical Errors and Their Prevention”<\/strong>, where over the course of three days, 29 speakers and 271 participants addressed and explored one of the most pressing and realistic challenges of medical practice \u2014 that of medical errors \u2014 from professional, social, and spiritual perspectives.<\/p>\n

Confrontation is essential not only for preventing future mistakes but also for turning them into drivers of personal and professional growth.<\/p>\n

In the medical profession, the possibility of error \u2014 as part of our human nature \u2014 is ever-present, yet its weight often lies on the boundary of life and death. At the conference, we examined what it means to make a mistake in medicine, where the lines are drawn between chance, omission, and professional error, and what factors can help prevent such occurrences.<\/p>\n

Organized in the multidisciplinary spirit of the Saint Blaise Foundation, the event brought together medical, ethical, social, and spiritual perspectives in search of meaningful answers. The aim was to confront the reality of mistakes \u2014 not with judgment, but with the intention to learn from them and grow through them. We trust that the lectures, workshops, and shared encounters contributed to both professional and personal development.<\/p>\n
